Israeli Midfielder Tai Abed Nears Transfer to Real Valladolid

Israeli midfielder Tai Abed is reportedly close to finalizing a move to Spanish second-division club Real Valladolid. Abed, who played for Levante last season, is expected to join Valladolid on a one-year loan deal, with an option for an additional season if the club achieves promotion to La Liga.

Valladolid has been tracking Abed for two years and is keen to integrate him into their squad, primarily as an attacking midfielder or right winger. The club's ability to extend his contract beyond the initial loan period is contingent on their promotion to Spain's top flight. Abed's current contract with Levante includes a release clause of 20 million euros, and he is entitled to 25% of any future transfer fee if Valladolid exercises its purchase option.

Valladolid views Abed as a player who can make a significant contribution this season, aiming to provide him with ample playing time to prove himself in Spanish football. This move presents an opportunity for Abed to regain prominence and help Valladolid pursue their goal of reaching La Liga.

Previously, Abed was in advanced negotiations with Sevilla, but that deal ultimately fell through due to financial disagreements between Levante and Sevilla regarding the potential loan fee. Reports of Abed's potential move to Sevilla also reportedly sparked anti-Israeli sentiment.

Last season, Abed made seven appearances for Levante in La Liga, accumulating only 110 minutes of playing time without scoring or assisting. He hopes for a more impactful role at Valladolid.
