Rahat Mayor Links Increased Police Presence to Reduced Violence

The mayor of Rahat, Talal Al-Krinawi, stated that an increased police presence in the city had led to a reduction in violence and shootings, but lamented that these forces have since been scaled back. Al-Krinawi made these remarks following a shooting incident overnight in which a 25-year-old man was seriously injured. He expressed hope that the police would restore their reinforced presence, explaining that for several months, the heightened police activity had been felt as a deterrent, contributing to personal security and decreasing violent incidents.

Al-Krinawi noted that the reduction in police forces preceded the latest shooting, which involved a drive-by shooting. He emphasized the positive impact of visible police presence in deterring crime and stated that the city is also actively working to install cameras in key locations to further enhance security.
