Man Arrested for Robbing and Threatening Elderly Man in Central Tel Aviv
Police in central Tel Aviv arrested a suspect in his 30s overnight between Saturday and Sunday on suspicion of robbing a 66-year-old man. According to the allegations, the suspect assaulted the elderly victim, hitting and choking him, and threatened to kill him with a stick if he did not hand over his mobile phone. The victim sustained injuries to his nose.
Officers responded to reports of the incident and apprehended the suspect near the scene. The mobile phone, believed to be stolen from the victim, was found in the suspect's possession at the time of his arrest. The suspect, identified as a resident of Kiryat Gat, was taken in for questioning at the police station.
Authorities stated that the suspect is expected to be brought before a court, where police will request an extension of his detention pending the ongoing investigation and its findings.
