Israeli Soldier Detained for Sexual Harassment and Threatening Minors on TikTok

A 20-year-old soldier from Bat Yam was remanded for an additional four days by the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court on suspicion of sexually harassing and blackmailing two teenage girls aged 14 and 15. The soldier allegedly contacted the girls via TikTok, impersonating a 16-year-old boy to coerce them into sending explicit photos. He then threatened them with violence, including claims he would attack the Bitan Rimon area and kill the girls and their families if they did not comply.

The investigation began after police received complaints from the two minors. The suspect initially denied the allegations during questioning but later admitted to the offenses, explaining he pretended to be younger to gain the girls' trust. He also acknowledged recognizing the victims from the photos and admitted to issuing threats.

The charges against the soldier include sexual harassment, blackmail, and threats. His defense attorney described him as a young man with significant complexities and criticized the police for conducting a standard interrogation despite the suspect's vulnerabilities. The court found sufficient evidence to justify continued detention, citing the seriousness of the offenses and the risk of obstructing justice. The judge ordered a psychiatric evaluation during the detention period, with a preliminary report due before the next hearing.
