IDF Integrates Ultra-Orthodox Soldiers as Intelligence Analysts in Division 146

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has launched a new initiative called "Rashit Chochma" to integrate ultra-Orthodox (Haredi) soldiers into intelligence research roles within Division 146. This marks the first time Haredi soldiers, recruited through the Maalot Tzur association, will serve as intelligence analysts responsible for processing and analyzing information, forming intelligence assessments, and producing operational decision-making materials.

The soldiers will undergo tailored basic training followed by professional intelligence instruction suited to their assigned roles. Concurrently, they will attend college to acquire civilian professional skills, facilitating their employment prospects after military service. A dedicated facility adapted to their lifestyle and needs has been established to support their integration.

Last week, a mezuzah dedication ceremony was held at the new site, attended by Division 146 commander Brigadier General Benny Aharon and project partners. Aharon emphasized the commitment to national unity, especially following the October mourning events, and highlighted the unique contribution of Haredi soldiers. He praised their analytical approach, rooted in deep study and debate, as a powerful asset to the IDF's intelligence capabilities and national security.
