Haredi Soldiers Join Intelligence Roles in Northern Command for First Time

For the first time, Haredi soldiers from the Maalot Tzur association are integrating as intelligence researchers in the IDF's Northern Command and the 146th Division. This initiative is part of the "Rashit Chochma" project, which aims to incorporate Haredi soldiers into intelligence and research roles. A dedicated facility tailored to their lifestyle and needs has been established to support their integration.

The selection process for these roles involves professional screening to ensure suitability, and only qualified candidates are assigned. Their involvement in operational intelligence work reflects a high level of trust and responsibility, allowing them to contribute significantly to intelligence efforts. The project also includes academic studies, enabling soldiers to acquire civilian professional skills for future employment.

The soldiers undergo adapted basic training followed by specialized intelligence training aligned with the professional standards required for their positions. Brigadier General Benny Aharon, commander of the 146th Division, emphasized the importance of unity across all sectors of Israeli society, especially after the events of October 7. He highlighted the value of the Haredi soldiers’ analytical approach and deep discussion culture, calling their integration a powerful tool for strengthening national security.

Additionally, about 40 Haredi soldiers recently completed an eight-week medic course at the Hachshmonaim Brigade base. This training, which included soldiers from various Haredi tracks, focused on IDF medical doctrine and emergency and routine procedures, fully adapted to the Haredi lifestyle.
