Seven-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Lake at Tel Aviv's Park HaDarom

A seven-year-old boy drowned on Friday in a lake at Park HaDarom in Tel Aviv. He was found unconscious and without a pulse after entering the water and not resurfacing. His friend, who was with him, exited the lake alone, prompting a search by rescue teams. Emergency responders, including the LaBaha special rescue unit from the Israeli Fire and Rescue Services, were dispatched to the scene.

Magen David Adom personnel arrived with multiple ambulances and rapid response vehicles. They found the boy unconscious and not breathing, immediately initiating CPR and administering medication before transporting him in critical condition to Ichilov Hospital. Despite resuscitation efforts, the boy was later pronounced dead.

Volunteers from ZAKA, including motorcycle unit members Avshalom Derchi and Barak Saarabi, assisted at the scene. They reported that a bystander located the boy unconscious in the water and helped remove him for emergency treatment. ZAKA volunteers ensured respect for the deceased and supported police operations at the site.
