Goldknopf Rejects New Draft on Draft Law, Demands Knesset Dissolution Bill

United Torah Judaism leader Yitzhak Goldknopf responded to reports that new legislation is being advanced on the military draft issue, saying he has no faith in the effort and wants the Knesset dissolved instead.

Goldknopf said, "We are fed up with the tricks and stunts meant only to create headlines and spins. What the government did not do in four years, it certainly will not do now. We have long since sobered up and have no trust."

He added that, in line with the guidance of leading rabbis, his bloc will insist on bringing the Knesset dissolution bill on Wednesday. His remarks indicate opposition to any new compromise or legislative maneuver on the draft law and a push toward ending the current parliament rather than pursuing another fix.
