Lecce Considers Alternative After Hapoel Tel Aviv Rejects Offer for Satyu Turiel

Italian club Lecce has paused its pursuit of Israeli winger Satyu Turiel after Hapoel Tel Aviv rejected their transfer offer. Despite Lecce's continued interest in Turiel, the Italian side is reportedly reconsidering submitting another bid due to the Israeli club's firm stance on retaining the player. Turiel, who joined Hapoel Tel Aviv from M.S. Ashdod about two and a half years ago, has become a key player with 33 goals and 12 assists, playing a vital role in the team's promotion to the Israeli Premier League and qualification for European competition.

With the transfer negotiations stalling, Lecce has identified an alternative target: 26-year-old Nigerian winger Abraham Marcus from Portuguese club Estrela Amadora. Lecce's sporting director, Stefano Trinchera, is familiar with Estrela Amadora, having previously signed four players from the club. This connection is influencing Lecce's inclination toward pursuing Marcus instead.

While Turiel remains a serious target for Lecce, Italian reports emphasize the complexity of the deal and uncertainty about whether Lecce will make another offer. Turiel himself is interested in moving to Lecce, but the transfer depends largely on Hapoel Tel Aviv's willingness to sell, which currently appears unlikely. Lecce is also exploring other options beyond Turiel as they prepare for the upcoming season.
