Ashdod Pub Shut for Six Days Following Violent Brawl Involving Owners

A well-known pub in Ashdod's industrial area was closed for six days after a serious violent incident on Tuesday night. Police arrived shortly after the fight began, investigating the circumstances and questioning those involved. Initial suspicions indicate that the pub owners participated in the altercation. Following a hearing conducted by Ashdod police operations officer Chief Inspector Shlomi Benisti, an administrative closure order was issued for the establishment.

This incident follows a similar violent event about ten days earlier at the Gihotel in Eilat, where young men reportedly took over the victim's seating area by the hotel pool and assaulted him with punches and kicks. The victim required medical treatment and was hospitalized with severe injuries, including broken teeth. During the investigation, one suspect threatened to "slaughter" the victim. Authorities also found suspected crystal-type drugs in possession of one of the detainees at the scene.

Both cases highlight ongoing concerns about violence in public venues in southern Israel, prompting police to take decisive administrative actions to maintain public safety.
