Spyware Discovered on Senior Phones in Gadi Eisenkot’s Election Campaign Headquarters

In recent weeks, sophisticated spyware was detected on the mobile phones of two senior staff members at Gadi Eisenkot’s election campaign headquarters. This discovery emerged from daily cybersecurity scans conducted as part of strict security protocols implemented across the campaign team. The malicious software was designed to conduct continuous surveillance, intercept communications, and extract sensitive political and strategic information from within the campaign.

Despite the breach affecting close associates with high-level access to confidential plans and internal discussions, Eisenkot’s personal device was reportedly unaffected. The campaign team decided not to report the incident to Israeli law enforcement agencies, opting instead to rely exclusively on a private cybersecurity firm that regularly monitors and fortifies the campaign’s digital infrastructure.

This cybersecurity incident occurs amid rising political tensions, as Eisenkot’s party, Yisrael Atid, has recently gained momentum in polls, surpassing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud party in some surveys. The campaign’s security concerns have been publicly acknowledged; about a month ago, Eisenkot’s chief of staff, Ron Barkai, wrote to the head of Shin Bet, David Zini, highlighting the lack of adequate security measures for Eisenkot, who is being protected privately without armed guards due to the heated political climate.
