Israeli Forces Arrest 30 Palestinians at Jerusalem Construction Site

Israeli security forces conducted a targeted operation at a construction site in the Neve Yaakov neighborhood of Jerusalem, apprehending approximately 30 Palestinians from the West Bank who were present in Israel without legal permits. The operation involved a large contingent of police, Border Police, and firefighters who breached a locked building on the site.

Dramatic footage released from the operation shows officers and Border Police officers advancing into the building with weapons drawn. After issuing a warning, firefighters used specialized equipment to force open locked doors. Inside, officers found the individuals hiding in various spaces, some in small rooms with makeshift sleeping arrangements.

During the arrests, officers instructed the individuals to raise their hands and "lift their shirts" to ensure they were not carrying weapons before they were handcuffed and led to waiting police vehicles. An additional suspect believed to be involved in transporting the individuals was also arrested.

A police official stated that the operation's goal is to locate and remove illegal residents from the city to ensure the safety of Jerusalem's residents, especially with the upcoming school year. The Jerusalem District Police emphasized that similar operations targeting illegal workers and their facilitators will continue to enhance public security.

The operation, which took place ahead of the new school year, is part of broader efforts by the Jerusalem District to maintain order and security in public spaces. The police are focusing enforcement on construction sites, businesses, and sensitive locations where unauthorized individuals may be present, aiming to prevent illegal entry and stay and to thwart security and criminal threats in the capital.
