Three Teens Arrested for Unprovoked Iron Bar Attack on Man in Hod Hasharon

Three teenagers were arrested on suspicion of assaulting a man in his 60s with an iron bar in Hod Hasharon during the early morning hours. The attack occurred around 4:30 a.m. while the man was out for his regular morning run near a local falafel stand. According to police, the victim was confronted by a group of eight youths aged 16 to 18, who struck him with helmets and an iron bar, causing a deep scratch on his back and spitting on him without any apparent reason.

Police from the Kfar Saba station identified and detained the suspects for questioning. Two were released under restrictive conditions, while the third remains in custody pending a court hearing to extend his detention by 15 days. The victim’s wife reported the incident a day after it happened through a post in a closed Hod Hasharon community group, describing the attack as humiliating and unprovoked. The victim attempted to confront the attackers, who then fled the scene.

The police continue their investigation into the assault, emphasizing the random nature of the attack and the ongoing efforts to ensure community safety.
