Israel’s Health and Housing ministries signed an agreement to move the Mazor and Merhavim psychiatric hospitals to general medical centers, freeing land in Acre and Be'er Ya'akov for residential development. The vacated sites are expected to enable about 3,500 housing units, with the new hospital complexes expected to take about five years to build.
