Brazil is refusing to approve Israel’s incoming ambassador and also its new consul general in Sao Paulo, deepening the diplomatic crisis between the two countries. When current consul general Rafi Erdreich returns to Israel, Israel could be left without a top diplomatic representative in Brazil. The embassy in Brasilia is currently run by deputy head Rahel Otmani.
