Iran’s sports minister Ahmad Donyamali said the national team could stop playing at the 2026 World Cup if political chants, protests, or unauthorized symbols appear in the stands. Iran also said it had asked FIFA to prevent pro LGBTQ activities at its June 27 match against Egypt in Seattle, amid rising tensions with Washington and heightened scrutiny around the team’s games in the United States.
