Trump Doubts Death of Mojtaba Khamenei, Predicts US Victory in Iran Conflict

US President Donald Trump expressed skepticism about reports claiming Mojtaba Khamenei, son of Iran's former Supreme Leader, has died. Speaking on Wednesday during an interview with Glenn Beck, Trump said he believes Khamenei is severely wounded in the hand and leg but still alive. He added that if Khamenei is indeed dead, Tehran is effectively creating the illusion that he remains alive.

Trump also commented on the ongoing conflict involving Iran, forecasting an imminent American victory. He compared the situation to the US campaign in Venezuela, stating, "We had a victory in Venezuela and we are going to have a victory here, in Iran, very soon." Additionally, Trump addressed the status of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical maritime chokepoint for global oil shipments. Despite occasional missile or drone attacks in the area, he asserted that the strait continues to function and transport large quantities of oil.

Meanwhile, Iran and Oman announced agreements on sharing control and revenues from the Strait of Hormuz. A spokesman for Iran's Revolutionary Guards said these understandings were reached through bilateral talks but accused the US of delaying further negotiations. The arrangement includes regulated shipping routes through Iranian and Omani waters, though full reopening of the strait remains contingent on conditions set for Washington. These developments come amid ongoing uncertainty about the power dynamics within Tehran following attacks on Iranian leadership figures.
