Or LaZion Religious Group Opens Community Study Hall in Memory of Fallen Soldier Ehud Yaari

The Or LaZion religious group inaugurated the "Hoda VeHadara" community study hall in Rishon LeZion, dedicated to the memory of Ehud Yaari, a soldier who died during an operational activity in southern Lebanon. Rabbi Shlomo Levi, president of Or LaZion, led the ceremony and highlighted Yaari's guiding motto, "spreading goodness," inspired by Rabbi Abraham Isaac Kook's teaching that Torah light should extend beyond synagogue walls into all areas of life. Rabbi Levi emphasized that the study hall's learners will continue the legacy of combining deep Torah study with impactful public action, described as "Sifra VeSaifa" (book and sword).

Rabbi Yehonatan Lenga spoke about the Jewish concept of remembrance as an active continuation rather than passive memory, stating that every act of study and kindness in the hall breathes life into Yaari's spirit and values, allowing his life's path to continue illuminating the world. Ehud Yaari's father, David Yaari, expressed gratitude for the honor of commemorating his son in a place dedicated to learning and connection, recalling Ehud's profound love for Torah study that sought deep truth and direct relevance to military service.

The event concluded with remarks from Ra'anan Levi on behalf of Or LaZion, thanking the Yaari family for their emotional partnership, Rabbi Shlomo Levi for his leadership and vision, and city council member Noam Hadad for his dedicated support of the group's initiatives.
