Amit Baruchin Yeshiva in Samaria Wins Prestigious Excellence Award on Its 10th Anniversary
The Ministry of Education announced on Wednesday that Amit Baruchin Yeshiva in Samaria has been recognized as an outstanding school for the academic year 5786 (2025-2026). The yeshiva will receive a salary grant for its excellence in academic, ethical, and social achievements, as well as for significant improvements in student relations and performance. This honor coincides with the yeshiva's 10th anniversary since its establishment.
In the upcoming school year, approximately 860 students from grades 7 through 12 are expected to attend, including nine new seventh-grade classes. The yeshiva offers diverse educational tracks, accommodating a wide range of students from those with learning and communication disabilities to excellence programs. Notably, Amit Baruchin is the first high school in Israel to integrate the "Mofet" association, which promotes advanced studies in mathematics, English, and physics, in collaboration with Ariel and Bar-Ilan Universities. Additional programs include the "Sanhedrin" Torah track, a national leadership and travel program, special education tracks "Eitan" and "Lavi," and a leadership major worth five study units.
Recent data shows that about 98% of the yeshiva's graduates continue to higher yeshivot, Hesder yeshivot, and pre-military academies, subsequently serving in significant combat roles in the IDF. Over 80% of Samaria's students choose to remain at the yeshiva when advancing to higher grades. In a letter to the yeshiva head Rabbi Avi Shish, the Ministry praised the staff's leadership and educational efforts that foster personal, social, ethical, and academic growth among students.
This achievement aligns with the launch of the Samaria Regional Council's five-year education plan, which invests 50 million shekels to upgrade and expand educational institutions to meet population growth. Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan expressed pride in the yeshiva's success, emphasizing its role in cultivating high academic standards, leadership, values, love of Torah and the land, and preparing students for meaningful service to Israel and the Jewish people. Rabbi Avi Shish highlighted that the award recognizes the dedicated daily work of the staff and their ongoing pursuit of excellence, viewing it as more than a certificate but as proof of their consistent efforts.
