Religious Zionist Rabbi Yitzhak Zaga Joins Moshe Feiglin's Party Ahead of Elections

Rabbi Yitzhak Zaga, a respected figure in the Religious Zionist community and prominent public activist, has announced his joining Moshe Feiglin's party ahead of the upcoming elections. Zaga is not new to the political scene; in 2017, he ran for the leadership of the Jewish Home party, securing about 7.5% of the vote against Naftali Bennett. At that time, he pledged to lead a "clean election campaign." After opting out of the 21st Knesset elections, Zaga returned to politics in 2022, running in the primaries of the Religious Zionist Party. He gained significant support from leading rabbis such as Rabbi Haim Druckman, Rabbi Shabtai Sabato, and Rabbi Dov Lior. Despite finishing seventh on the candidate list, he drew public attention by running a low-budget campaign costing only 4,387 shekels. Now, Zaga aims to advance his political goals alongside Feiglin, as part of a broader effort to expand the party's ranks and appeal to Torah-observant and ideological segments within Religious Zionism.
