New York Police Release Footage of Suspects Vandalizing Queens Synagogues with Motor Oil and Feces

The New York Police Department has released security camera footage showing two suspects wanted for vandalizing two synagogues in Queens last month. The incidents, under investigation by the NYPD Hate Crimes Unit, took place at the Young Israel of Holliswood on Francis Lewis Boulevard and the Young Israel of Jamaica Estates on 188th Street.

According to police, on July 16 at 11:44 a.m., two unidentified individuals entered the rear of the Jamaica Estates synagogue, vandalized property by throwing bags containing motor oil, and fled on foot to a dark SUV. Later that night, between 11 p.m. and 6:20 a.m., the same suspects similarly attacked the Holliswood synagogue. Worshippers arriving for morning prayers the next day discovered the mess left outside the buildings.

The police have appealed to the public for assistance in identifying the suspects and urged anyone with information to contact them. On July 19, the two synagogues were reported vandalized with motor oil and feces. New York State Assemblywoman Nily Rozic, an American-Israeli representing parts of eastern Queens, condemned the attacks, calling them "another appalling example of the ongoing hatred faced by our community."
