Police and Prosecution Disagree Over Investigation Completion in 'Social Games' Case After 3.5 Months

More than three months after the prosecution ordered additional investigation steps in the 'Social Games' case, a dispute remains between the police and prosecution over completing the inquiry. The head of the Police Investigations and Intelligence Division, Commissioner Boaz Balat, opposed carrying out the required investigation supplements, as reported by Kan News on Wednesday. Nearly two years ago, Taisia Zamolotsky and another complainant appealed the case's closure, but a decision on the appeal was postponed to August 15, a date that has passed without resolution.

The prosecution informed Zamolotsky and the other party of its intention to submit a response to the High Court of Justice by September 16 regarding the refusal to complete the investigation, though this deadline was extended at the State Prosecutor's request. Zamolotsky criticized the police for disrupting the investigation for the third time and refusing to conduct the supplementary inquiries mandated by the Deputy State Prosecutor. She accused the system of attempting to silence and exhaust her, stating she will persist and ensure the case continues to hold those responsible accountable.

Separately, the prosecution reopened the investigation into singer Eyal Golan and expressed surprise at the freezing of the investigation supplements in his case.
