Syria Condemns Israeli Defense Minister Katz's Visit to Military Bases as Provocation

The Syrian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Katz's visit to Israeli military bases located in Syrian territory. Syria described the visit as an "illegal entry and violation of international borders," labeling it a clear provocation and breach of international law and the United Nations Charter. The statement emphasized that Katz's actions violate the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, which mandates respect for ceasefire lines and prohibits crossing them.

Syria called on the international community to assume legal and political responsibility to compel Israel to cease these repeated violations. The Syrian government demanded an immediate and full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Syrian lands, a return to the disengagement line, and respect for Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
