Former Brigadier General Ofer Winter Gains Two Key Religious Zionist Figures for New Party

Ahead of his political launch event scheduled for this evening, retired Brigadier General Ofer Winter is strengthening his new political list by recruiting two prominent figures from the religious-nationalist sector. According to Channel 14, David Ben-Zion, currently deputy and acting head of the Shomron Regional Council, and attorney Eran Ben-Ari have joined Winter's preparations for the upcoming Knesset race. Their addition is seen as a significant blow to the Religious Zionist Party led by Bezalel Smotrich.

David Ben-Zion is a well-known and influential figure within the settlement movement, and his involvement is expected to erode Smotrich's support base among the religious-nationalist public. Meanwhile, Eran Ben-Ari, a respected legal expert in the right-wing camp, fills a key ideological and legal role similar to that of Smotrich ally and Constitution Committee chairman Simcha Rothman. Ben-Zion and Ben-Ari join a growing list of notable figures who will form the new party's slate, which Winter will officially announce at tonight's celebratory launch event.
