Benny Gantz Left With Only Three Knesset Members in Blue and White After Wave of Resignations

The Blue and White party, once a leading political force in Israel, is facing a severe crisis as a wave of resignations continues to shrink its ranks. This morning, Member of Knesset Yael Ron Ben-Moshe announced her departure from the party framework led by Benny Gantz, marking the latest in a series of high-profile exits. Over recent months, five other prominent figures, including former ministers and MKs Gadi Eizenkot, Matan Kahana, Orit Farkash-Hacohen, Hili Tropper, and Eitan Ginzburg, have also left the party.

Following these departures, the Blue and White faction has dramatically contracted, leaving Benny Gantz with only three remaining MKs: Alon Shuster, Penina Tamano-Shata, and Michael Biton. Ron Ben-Moshe informed Gantz that she would not participate in the new political framework he is attempting to establish. She explained that despite ongoing personal and group discussions within Blue and White about Gantz's political direction, her efforts to influence his decisions were unsuccessful.

Ron Ben-Moshe cited ideological reasons for her resignation, stating that the new path no longer aligns with the centrist vision that originally defined Blue and White. She expressed concern over the possibility that some members of the new framework might refuse to join a government led by Gadi Eizenkot, which she views as a significant risk and a clear red line for her. This development comes as the party approaches the deadline for submitting electoral lists, adding uncertainty to its future role in Israeli politics.
