Senior Peace Council Official Calls to End All Armed Activity in Gaza Including Explosive Kites

A senior official from the Israeli Peace Council condemned the launching of explosive kites from the Gaza Strip on Tuesday but also criticized Israel's military actions. The official stated that all armed activities in Gaza, including the kite launches, must cease. This message was conveyed through a mechanism established for ceasefire enforcement. The official emphasized that Israel must also adhere to ceasefire terms and that military operations should only respond to immediate and real threats.

Earlier the same day, dozens of activists and residents from the Gaza border area protested in Kerem Shalom, demanding an end to the threat posed by explosive kites and measures to prevent Hamas from strengthening. Protesters carried Israeli flags and signs reading "Stop Hamas Reconstruction" and "Care for Southern Residents' Security." Gilad Erdan spoke at the event but was met with hostility from participants who accused him of politicizing the protest, shouting, "You are using us! This is not a political event!"
