Israeli Police Arrest 18 Illegal Residents in Sharon Raid Seizing Weapons and Cash

On August 25, Israeli police forces, including large contingents from the National Guard and Central District police, conducted simultaneous raids in Tayibe and Kafr Qasim in the Sharon region. The operations targeted multiple locations, resulting in the arrest of 18 illegal residents and the seizure of weapons, ammunition, and tens of thousands of shekels in cash.

During the raids, five illegal residents were found in a residential building in Kafr Qasim, where they attempted to flee upon police arrival. A 44-year-old local resident was also detained on suspicion of employing them. Additional arrests included 13 more illegal residents discovered in both Tayibe and Kafr Qasim.

Police uncovered various weapons including airsoft guns resembling pistols and rifles, three pistol holsters, a weapon strap, and a magazine. Approximately 73 grams of suspected cannabis were also seized, leading to the detention of a 23-year-old resident of Nesher. In another Kafr Qasim location, loose 5.56 mm ammunition and 77,800 shekels in cash were found, prompting the arrest of a 20-year-old local.

Open areas yielded a Glock pistol, two loaded magazines, 33 rounds of 7.65 mm Ruger ammunition, 50 rounds of 9 mm ammunition, and an additional magazine. All weapons and ammunition were confiscated for further investigation. Traffic enforcement was also conducted during the operation, resulting in 15 citations for violations including riding electric bikes without helmets, underage driving, and mobile phone use while driving.

A female motorcyclist in Tayibe was arrested for driving without a license; her motorcycle was impounded for 30 days. The police emphasized the recurring combination of illegal residency, weapons possession, and cash in the area. The arrested suspects are under investigation as authorities examine the connections between the seized items and the individuals involved.
