Man Stabs Gas Station Attendant in Ashkelon After Being Asked to Wait

On August 18, 2026, a violent stabbing incident occurred at a gas station in Ashkelon. The suspect attacked a gas station employee with a pocket knife after being asked to wait his turn while the attendant was assisting another customer. The attacker threatened the employee, who tried to remove him from the premises, but the suspect then stabbed him in the abdomen and fled the scene. The injured employee was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.

Following the incident, Ashkelon police quickly arrived at the scene, conducted an investigation, collected evidence with the help of the city’s surveillance center, and gathered witness testimonies. The suspect was located and arrested shortly thereafter. After completing the investigation, the police filed an indictment against the suspect and requested his detention until the conclusion of legal proceedings through the Lachish Prosecution Unit.

Ashkelon Police Station commander Superintendent Eldad Eliashiv emphasized the seriousness with which the police treat violent incidents, especially those involving knives in public spaces, stating that the police are committed to enforcing the law against anyone endangering public safety.
