MK Tzvi Sukkot Destroys Palestinian Memorial Under IDF Guard in West Bank Village

On Tuesday, Israeli Member of Knesset Tzvi Sukkot was filmed smashing a memorial in a Palestinian village under the protection of Israeli Defense Forces soldiers. The footage shows Sukkot exiting a vehicle with another person, wielding a hammer and forcefully striking the monument located in the middle of a Palestinian street. The video also captures Sukkot recording the act on his personal phone while others nearby continue to hit the memorial. An IDF military vehicle is seen blocking the street as soldiers secure the area.

This incident follows a tense visit by Sukkot to the city of Rahat about two weeks earlier. During that official inspection tour, which was part of the Education Committee’s oversight visits across Israel, dozens of local residents protested and attempted to prevent his entry. The crowd shouted insults such as "zero," "what do you have to teach our children?", "provocateur," and "Rahat? Go educate yourself." Despite the opposition, Sukkot proceeded with the visit, which was accompanied by police and Knesset Guard forces.

The committee’s visits aim to closely examine educational institutions, assess the implementation of committee decisions, and address challenges related to violence, crime, and incitement within the education system. The recent memorial destruction by Sukkot adds to the controversy surrounding his interactions in Arab communities under Israeli control.
