Israel Deploys Advanced Blue and White Drone Defense System Along Gaza and Lebanon Borders

The Israeli government approved the deployment of an advanced Israeli-developed drone detection and interception system to three key areas, including the Gaza Strip and Lebanon borders. The decision was made during a high-level security meeting led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Israel Katz, and IDF Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, alongside senior military and intelligence officials. The system is designed to protect bases, outposts, and sensitive sites by detecting small drones early using multiple sensors operational day and night. It can jam drone control frequencies and force drones to land or return to their launch point, while also alerting forces to potential threats.

The deployment comes amid concerns raised by Southern Command officials about Hamas regaining confidence due to U.S. pressure on Israel and resuming incendiary kite and balloon attacks. Senior IDF sources warned that Hamas could escalate by deploying drones from its war stockpiles, some of which have been smuggled into Gaza. The military recommended a proactive stance to prevent these drone attacks from becoming as widespread as the incendiary balloon attacks before October 7.

The system will be mounted on vehicles and can be deployed in secured areas based on threat assessments. It is already used abroad to protect borders and sensitive facilities. This move is part of broader efforts by the Gaza Division under Brigadier General Liron Batito, the Shin Bet, Military Intelligence, Southern Command, and the Air Force to counter terrorist activities near the "yellow line" and deeper inside Gaza territory.
