Danny Avdija Likely to Make NBA All-Star Team Again, Depends on Blazers' Performance

Israeli NBA player Danny Avdija and the Portland Trail Blazers are set to begin their new season in less than two months with a home game against the Phoenix Suns. Ahead of the season, sports journalist Sean Haken, a prominent Blazers reporter, discussed Avdija's chances of being selected for the All-Star game again during the Locked On Blazers podcast hosted by Mike Ritzman.

Haken noted that Avdija is currently at his peak performance. While Damian Lillard might receive more fan votes, the coaches' selections will likely favor Avdija. He emphasized that although it might not be guaranteed for Avdija to make the All-Star team every year, he did so last season despite back issues, and it is very plausible he will be selected again this season. Haken pointed out that Avdija's inclusion will largely depend on the Blazers' win-loss record at the time.

Ritzman agreed, adding that last season Avdija was close to making the All-NBA First Team and with better health or slightly improved performance, he would have secured that spot. He expressed curiosity about whether Avdija can reach that level again with the current team. Overall, both analysts see a strong possibility of Avdija being an All-Star again this season, contingent on his health and the team's success.
