Netanyahu Reveals Iran Tried to Assassinate One of His Sons

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu disclosed in a live interview on Channel 14 that Iran attempted to assassinate one of his sons. Netanyahu confirmed the intelligence information but refrained from providing further details, emphasizing the necessity of strict security measures for his family, especially during the election period. This revelation was previously classified and not permitted for public release for several months.

The security arrangements for Netanyahu's family have been officially approved by the Israeli Cabinet's committee on Shin Bet affairs. His wife, Sara Netanyahu, was granted lifetime security protection, while their two sons, Yair and Avner, received security coverage for five years. Sara Netanyahu requested that these security provisions be guaranteed regardless of the upcoming election results.

The disclosure comes amid heightened threats, including a July incident where the Iranian newspaper "Al-Moshari," owned by Tehran's municipality, published a direct death threat against Netanyahu and former U.S. President Donald Trump. The newspaper depicted them in prison uniforms with crosshairs on their foreheads, accompanied by the headline "The criminals will carry their death wish to the grave." Other senior Israeli officials and American figures were similarly targeted in the publication, underscoring the ongoing security risks faced by Israeli leadership.
