IDF and Shin Bet Destroy Hamas Weapons Stockpiles Hidden in Gaza Mosques

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet conducted targeted strikes on weapons warehouses located inside two mosques in the northern Gaza Strip, specifically in the areas of Shati and Deir al-Balah. These warehouses contained dozens of Kalashnikov rifles, magazines, and other military equipment used by the terrorist organization Hamas. Prior to the attacks, warnings were issued to the local population to minimize civilian harm, and precise munitions along with aerial surveillance were employed to ensure accuracy.

According to a joint statement from the IDF and Shin Bet spokespersons, the mosques served as shelters for Hamas operatives, exemplifying the group’s systematic use of civilian infrastructure to facilitate terrorist activities against Israeli forces and civilians. This practice violates international law and complicates military operations in the region.

The IDF Southern Command remains deployed in the area under existing agreements and is committed to neutralizing immediate threats. The concealment of weapons in mosques and religious institutions is not a new phenomenon; recently, a dangerous arsenal including grenades, Kalashnikovs, and explosives was uncovered in a residential home in Jerusalem, including children’s rooms. During ongoing conflicts, multiple additional weapons caches have been discovered hidden inside mosques.
