Mother of Fallen Israeli Observer Urges Military to Heed Gaza Warnings

Sharon Eshel, mother of Roni Eshel, an Israeli observer killed on October 7, spoke at a press conference held by the "October Council," which released a comprehensive report on warnings related to the situation in Gaza. She addressed brigade commanders and the Gaza Division commander, urging them not to ignore the alerts they are currently receiving. Eshel warned, "Do not ignore them, you will not be able to say later 'I did not know.'"

During the event, Eshel read a letter from N., a mother of another observer stationed on the Gaza border, who expressed concern about the treatment of her daughter by commanders. The letter questioned how it is possible that the commanders responsible for protecting and listening to the observers are instead frightening them and threatening them for reporting failures along the "yellow line" security zone.

The press conference highlighted the serious warnings and concerns raised by observers and their families about the military's handling of intelligence and security measures prior to the October 7 attack.
