Five Arrested in Negev Clan Conflict Amid Gunfire and Molotov Attacks in Ar'ara

Five suspects were arrested over the past weekend in Ar'ara, a Negev Bedouin town, amid ongoing clan violence that involved gunfire, stone-throwing, and Molotov cocktail preparations. The arrests followed police operations by the Ar'ara station, Yoav unit fighters, and Southern Border Police across multiple locations in the town. Authorities seized a Carlo rifle, a Glock 17 pistol, ammunition, and materials used to make Molotov cocktails during searches of homes and rooftops.

The suspects include individuals accused of throwing stones at police forces. All detainees and confiscated items were transferred to the Ar'ara police station for further investigation. This incident is part of a series of violent clashes between clans in Ar'ara and the wider Negev region. Earlier in September, 11 suspects were arrested after masked assailants fired at homes belonging to a rival clan, with investigations revealing the use of stolen Israeli military weapons.

The recent escalation highlights the persistent security challenges posed by clan disputes in the Negev, prompting intensified police efforts to restore order and prevent further violence.
