Israeli Police Deny Abuse Claims Against Dimona Resident in Eilat Incident

The Israeli police have denied allegations of violence against a 37-year-old resident of Dimona named Yadin, who claimed he was assaulted by officers in Eilat. Yadin, a member of the Hebrew community, alleged that he was detained immediately after leaving a nightclub by plainclothes officers who handcuffed him and physically abused him in the nearby hills, causing injuries including broken front teeth and multiple wounds. He said the officers left him alone in the hills and told him to go home, after which he was assisted by paramedics. A video recorded with the medical team supports his claim of being treated outside the city.

In response, the police stated that their investigation found no evidence supporting claims of violent conduct by the officers. They explained that the officers approached Yadin following complaints from two women at the venue who said he was harassing them. When Yadin did not comply with police instructions to move away and avoid contact, he was arrested and taken to a police vehicle. After the purpose of the arrest was fulfilled, he was released at the scene at his request.

The police emphasized that the complaint contained inaccuracies that misrepresent the officers' behavior. They also noted that if there is suspicion of criminal conduct by police officers, the matter should be referred to the Police Investigations Department, which is authorized to examine such claims. The police's official statement was issued to clarify the situation and prevent public misinformation.
