Gantz Urges Netanyahu to Unite the Opposition Against a Lebanon Deal
Blue and White chairman Benny Gantz said at the start of his party faction meeting that the emerging agreement is, in his words, a “strategic failure” for Israel, the Israeli government, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He said he felt no schadenfreude, only “great concern.”
Gantz called on Netanyahu to bring in opposition leaders as well, so they can stand together as a united front to help improve the deal. “Now we need to fix it,” he said, arguing that Israel must not accept what he described as an Iranian dictate to stop the war in Lebanon before Hezbollah is dismantled.
His remarks came as the agreement appeared to be taking shape, and he framed the issue as one of national strategy rather than partisan politics. Gantz did not present specific changes to the deal, but said the current direction required immediate correction and broader political coordination.
