M.S. Ashdod Seeks to Reacquire Cape Verdean Winger Clay from Hapoel Petah Tikva
M.S. Ashdod has approached Hapoel Petah Tikva to negotiate the return of winger Clay, originally from Cape Verde. Clay was purchased by Hapoel Petah Tikva last summer for a significant fee of half a million shekels. Recently, a player moved in the opposite direction, with Edmond Asante transferring from M.S. Ashdod to Hapoel Petah Tikva. During the previous season, Clay made 36 appearances in the Israeli Premier League, starting in 34 matches, scoring five goals and providing five assists for coach Omer Peretz's team. The potential transfer would see Clay return to the Liga Leumit, Israel's second division, where M.S. Ashdod currently competes.
