New Rehovot Stadium Sees High Scoring in Only Six Matches This Season

The newly inaugurated municipal stadium in Rehovot, which seats 6,000 spectators, has hosted just six official matches since its opening this summer. Despite the limited number of games, the stadium has witnessed an unusually high number of goals, totaling 25 across these fixtures. This averages to 4.1 goals per match, a remarkable statistic for a new venue.

The stadium serves as a home ground not only for local teams but also for others facing logistical challenges. For example, Hapoel Jerusalem is hosting its home matches there due to the Maccabiah Games preventing use of its usual stadium at the start of the season. Hapoel Ramat Gan also regularly plays home games at the Rehovot stadium.

Among the notable recent matches was a Toto Cup ranking game between Beitar Jerusalem and Hapoel Ramat Gan that ended in a 3-3 draw. Another high-scoring game saw Maccabi Tel Aviv defeat Hapoel Jerusalem 5-2 in a Premier League match. Other results include Hapoel Ramat Gan's 1-2 loss to Hapoel Petah Tikva, Hapoel Jerusalem's 0-1 loss to Maccabi Petah Tikva, and a 2-2 draw between Hapoel Ramat Gan and Hapoel Jerusalem, all in the Toto Cup.
