Actor Stuns Tel Aviv Passersby With Real Drawn Gun During Film Shoot
Police in Tel Aviv were called on Sunday after frightened residents reported a man walking the streets with a drawn handgun and feared it might be a terror attack. Officers from the Yarkon precinct in the Tel Aviv District arrived after numerous calls to emergency line 100 and discovered that the scene was part of a film shoot.
According to the police, the production used a real firearm illegally. The director had handed his personal gun, which he legally holds under a permit, to an actor who does not have a weapons license. The actor then carried the gun openly in public, alarming bystanders who believed they were witnessing an attack.
The director and the actor were arrested and taken for questioning. After the investigation, both were released under restrictive conditions. The article does not identify them by name.
One officer called it “a serious incident that could have ended in disaster.” He said police received many reports from residents and were surprised to find a movie shoot at the scene. He added that the director transferred his gun to an unlicensed actor, and that the actor possessed it unlawfully.
