Samaria Regional Council Launches New Religious Technological High School for Girls
The Samaria Regional Council announced the opening of a new religious technological high school for girls in Havat Yair, set to begin at the start of the upcoming school year. The school will serve students from grades 9 through 12 and initially operate in temporary modular buildings before moving to a permanent location within Havat Yair. The educational institution will be managed by the Amit Network, which won the council's tender to run the school.
This initiative aims to provide a tailored educational framework for girls who prefer a high school setting over the traditional Ulpana religious girls' schools. The program emphasizes identifying each student's personal strengths, empowerment, open dialogue, and offers personal guidance alongside emotional and social support.
The school will be led by Zehava Tamir, an experienced educator with a background in working with at-risk youth and leading pedagogical programs within the Amit Network. Tamir holds a doctorate candidacy at Ben-Gurion University, a master's degree from Beit Berl College, and a bachelor's degree from Orot College.
Yossi Dagan, head of the Samaria Regional Council, praised the new school as a professional model focusing primarily on the student's abilities. He also thanked his deputy for education, David Ben Zion, the education department director Tal Navoni, and the Amit Network for their collaboration. Dr. Amnon Alder, CEO of the Amit Network, expressed gratitude for the council's trust and reaffirmed the network's commitment to advancing every student in the region.
