Journalist Natali Shem Tov Joins Retired Brigadier General Ofer Winter’s New Political Party
Israeli journalist and news presenter Natali Shem Tov is expected to join the new political party led by retired Brigadier General Ofer Winter, according to i24NEWS reporter Amiel Yerach. This development follows weeks of intense political courting from multiple sides. Last week, it was reported that Winter held advanced talks with Shem Tov about the possibility of her running on his party’s list for the Knesset.
Simultaneously, the Likud party continued efforts to recruit Shem Tov, especially after the recent primary elections resulted in no women appearing at the top of the party’s list. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s circle intensified discussions with her, as she had previously been considered a potential candidate for Likud. Additionally, she received an offer from Gilad Erdan, a Likud member, according to Hadashot Srugim.
These developments placed Shem Tov at the center of competing political efforts: Likud aimed to strengthen female representation on its list, while Winter sought to include her in his upcoming Knesset slate. The negotiations between Shem Tov and Winter have now reportedly concluded successfully, with Shem Tov expected to play a key role in Winter’s party list.
