Yokneam Plans Major Expansion with 3,300 New Housing Units and Mixed-Use Development

Yokneam is advancing plans for significant city expansion, including a new neighborhood featuring approximately 3,300 housing units alongside commercial, employment, leisure, and hotel spaces. The municipality aims to create a balanced urban district that integrates residential areas with workplaces and services to support the growing population.

The city is organizing a conference in September to connect real estate companies with available land reserves and upcoming projects. This event targets CEOs, planning VPs, business development managers, and other key figures in the construction and real estate sectors. The goal is to foster competition for development sites and accelerate building while maintaining a 60% green space to 40% built-up area ratio.

In addition to the planned neighborhood in southern Yokneam, the city is promoting a new master plan to evaluate further areas with development potential. Developers will be invited to propose additional sites for future projects, allowing them to participate early in the planning stages rather than only marketing finalized projects.

Yokneam’s expansion strategy aligns with recent local developments, including the high-tech park, investments in education innovation since 2024, cultural, sports, and leisure enhancements, and urban renewal projects under a housing agreement. The city aims to increase housing supply to enable residents to remain in Yokneam after starting families and hopes to influence housing prices. Expanding commercial, employment, and leisure spaces is also intended to support economic growth.

The number of registrations for the upcoming conference indicates strong interest from the real estate sector in Yokneam’s future projects, which will be detailed during the event in September.
