Pinehas Idan Withdraws Appeal Against Netanyahu's Decision to Expel Him from Likud

Pinehas Idan, chairman of the Airport Authority Workers Committee, has informed the Likud party court that he will not appeal Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's decision to expel him from the party. Idan stated that since Netanyahu has identified him as the harmful element causing damage within the party, he feels unable to contest this determination. He highlighted his family's long-standing involvement with the Likud central committee, spanning over a decade.

Idan denied allegations that he ordered the cessation of operations at Ben Gurion Airport and called for a thorough investigation to identify who actually gave the directive. He asserted that the airport manager was responsible for closing the airport and did not commit to any assurances regarding the ongoing situation.

Regarding the strike and his position in the committee, Idan explained that a team of temporary workers, who began their shift early in the morning, requested to leave after feeling exhausted. He emphasized that his standing in the committee is stable, noting that temporary workers vote similarly to permanent ones. Idan concluded by affirming his commitment to faithfully represent the workers of the Airport Authority, to whom he is solely dedicated.
