Pini Idan Accepts Netanyahu's Decision to Expel Him from Likud Without Appeal
Pini Idan, chairman of the Airport Authority workers' committee, announced he will not appeal Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's decision to expel him from the Likud party. Idan stated that after over 50 years of his family’s involvement in Likud, he respects Netanyahu's judgment that he is the harmful element causing damage within the party.
Idan denied ordering the shutdown of operations at Ben Gurion Airport, asserting that the airport manager was responsible for closing the airport. He emphasized that he demanded a thorough investigation to identify who gave the shutdown order. Idan also clarified that the strike was not initiated by him but stemmed from workers’ exhaustion after long shifts, and he insisted that all events are documented and recorded.
In a recent interview, Idan refrained from promising when normal operations at the airport would resume. Meanwhile, the Airport Authority management announced efforts to return to routine following the strike, which has caused an estimated 30 million shekels in damages. The situation remains uncertain as the strike’s continuation into the following week is unclear.
