Elderly Bohush Hasidic Leader Rabbi Leibel Moses Dies at 96 in Bnei Brak

Rabbi Avraham Yehuda Aryeh (Leibel) Moses, a revered elder of the Bohush Hasidic community, passed away at the age of 96 at Maayanei Hayeshua Medical Center in Bnei Brak. His funeral took place on Sunday, the 10th of Elul, departing from the Bohush Hasidic study hall on Chaggai Street in Bnei Brak at 12:30 PM, proceeding to the Ponovezh Yeshiva cemetery in the city for burial.

Born to Rabbi Pinchas Moses and Mrs. Blima, Rabbi Leibel was known for his devout and humble character, dedicating his life to Torah study and Hasidism. He was described by acquaintances as a noble and God-fearing figure who constantly engaged in Torah learning and raised his descendants in the same spiritual path. Throughout his life, he remained deeply connected to the Ruzhin-Bohush dynasty and was a prominent figure in the Bohush Hasidic community in Bnei Brak.

An intriguing detail noted by Bohush Hasidim is the timing of his passing: his mother died on the 14th of Menachem Av, the anniversary of the passing of Rabbi Yitzchak of Bohush, while Rabbi Leibel himself passed on the 10th of Elul, the day marking the death of the first Rabbi Yitzchak of Bohush.

Rabbi Leibel leaves behind a blessed lineage including sons Rabbi Moshe Moses of Bnei Brak, Rabbi Yaakov Moses of Bruckfeld, and Rabbi Shlomo Chaim Moses of Bnei Brak, as well as sons-in-law Rabbi Avraham Tzvi Farkash and Rabbi Pinchas Zelig Stern of Ashdod, Rabbi Moshe Spitzer of Jerusalem, and Rabbi Yaakov Holtzman of Bruckfeld. His soul is remembered with the traditional blessing, "May his soul be bound up in the bond of life."
