Israeli-French Singer Amir Haddad Reveals Mezuzah Removed from Paris Home Amid Rising Anti-Semitism

Israeli-French singer Amir Haddad disclosed that the mezuzah at the entrance of his Paris home was forcibly removed shortly before he flew to Israel. He shared this incident during a performance in Tel Aviv, highlighting it as an example of the increasing anti-Semitic acts in France. Haddad recounted discovering the mezuzah missing as he left for the airport, having intended to say goodbye to it. Despite finding the event disturbing, he emphasized his refusal to succumb to fear or intimidation, stating, "They touched an object important to me, but they will never touch what happens inside us. They will tire long before us, and in the end, there will be justice." This revelation comes amid a rise in anti-Semitic incidents in France, with the French Interior Ministry reporting 1,320 such acts in 2025. Born in Paris and immigrating to Israel as a child, Haddad gained fame in France through "The Voice" and represented France in the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. He continues to maintain a successful music career in both France and Israel.
