Violent Road Incident in Lakewood Ends with Stabbing, Car Theft, and Arrests

A violent incident on a road in Lakewood over the weekend involved a chase, stabbing, and car theft. The event began early Friday morning on Princeton Street and escalated as suspects called for backup and pursued a group of Haredi youths across the city. The confrontation peaked near 10th Street and Clifton Boulevard, where several suspects exited their vehicle and shouted at the Haredi teenagers. During the altercation, one suspect brandished a knife and threatened one of the Jewish youths, accidentally stabbing a Hispanic companion in the process, causing injury. Meanwhile, another member of the Hispanic group jumped into the youths' car and fled the scene. The stolen vehicle was located shortly afterward nearby. Lakewood police launched a thorough investigation leading to multiple arrests. According to Lakewood Alerts, the suspects are expected to face charges including aggravated assault, weapons possession related to the stabbing, and car theft. Authorities emphasized there is no indication the incident was motivated by antisemitism.
