The police have completed the investigation into the killing of the yeshiva student, the late Rabbi Yeshayahu Por, at a synagogue in Bnei Brak, and today, Wednesday, a notice of intention to file an indictment was submitted against Guy Achtlinger, the suspect in the case. An indictment for murder is expected to be filed against him in the coming days.

Alongside the progress in the criminal proceedings, it has emerged that despite three court decisions ordering the suspect to be sent for psychiatric evaluation under hospitalization conditions, this has still not been carried out. According to details reported by Tuviya Yagelnik on Galei Tzahal, as early as June 3 the judge ordered that Achtlinger be transferred for a psychiatric examination under hospitalization conditions, but the district psychiatrist refused, claiming that he could not carry out a substantive examination at this stage of the legal proceedings.

The following day, on June 4, an additional explicit court decision was issued stating that the examination could be carried out and that the district psychiatrist should receive the suspect before Shabbat began. This decision was also not implemented. On June 7, the court again ordered that Achtlinger be transferred for an examination under hospitalization conditions, and even asked the Israel Prison Service to explain why the decision had not yet been carried out. Today it became clear that this decision, too, was not implemented.

In light of this, the judge again ordered that the suspect be transferred for a psychiatric examination, "if possible, already today, after previous decisions to transfer the suspect to a psychiatrist were not carried out." The judge also emphasized, in bold type in her decision, the need to implement the court's June 4 ruling, which refers to decisions of the district court stating that "even in this proceeding, a fitness examination can be initiated." Until the examination is completed, the court ordered that the suspect's continued detention be carried out under hospitalization conditions.
