Israeli Authorities Uncover Secret Network Smuggling Chinese Drones to Southern Crime Groups

Israeli police and tax authorities have uncovered a covert operation involving the smuggling of drones from China to criminal organizations in southern Israel. The investigation revealed that a security services company was used as a front to import dozens of drones, which were allegedly employed for smuggling weapons and drugs in the region. Three suspects were arrested, including the company owner, a man in his 30s from Ashkelon, and two employees suspected of acting as intermediaries and suppliers.

Authorities seized a shipment of approximately 30 drones at a warehouse used by the company. The investigation indicated that the company repeatedly imported similar shipments of drones and related equipment over an extended period, violating customs and VAT laws. Additional drone-related equipment was also found during the raid.

The suspects face charges including customs and VAT offenses, money laundering, and conspiracy to commit a crime. Two of the suspects had their detention extended until Tuesday, while the third was released under restrictive conditions. This case highlights ongoing efforts to combat smuggling and criminal activity in southern Israel using advanced technology.
